Data Engineer Mid – (m/f/d) Porto

Role:

As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the Databricks-based data infrastructure that powers Körber’s marketing analytics. You will design, develop, and optimize data pipelines that integrate data from multiple into a unified ecosystem. Your work will ensure that the marketing team has clean, reliable, and timely data for dashboards, insights, and AI initiatives. You will also contribute to the evolution of the Körber Marketing Data Mesh, helping establish scalable and automated data operations across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks, connecting and processing data from various marketing and business systems.

• Develop and manage data models and Delta tables to support analytical workloads and Power BI reporting.

• Contribute to the Körber Marketing Data Mesh, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reusability of datasets.

• Implement robust data validation, quality monitoring, and error-handling processes.

• Optimize pipeline performance and efficient cluster configuration.

• Automate data ingestion from APIs and external connectors for marketing platforms.

• Collaborate closely with data analysts to translate business requirements into efficient technical solutions.

• Maintain documentation for all data sources, pipelines, and transformations to ensure transparency and reproducibility.

• Enforce data governance, access control, and GDPR compliance across all pipelines and environments.

Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark for data transformation, automation, and orchestration.

• Hands-on experience with Databricks (Delta Lake, Workflows, Unity Catalog, Databricks SQL).

• Deep understanding of data architecture and data lakehouse design principles.

• Experience with API integration and incremental data ingestion.

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and version control (e.g., Git) for data engineering workflows.

• Strong grasp of data quality, governance, and observability practices.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex data pipeline issues.
