NICU RN Job Details

Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Ohio nursing jobs

Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse

Healthcare Setting: Level III NICU

Start Date: December 15, 2025

End Date: March 16, 2026

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 - 19:30)

Hours per Week: 36

Estimated Weekly Salary: $2160 - $2210

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state license required

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Minimum 1 year of recent NICU nursing experience (Level III or IV preferred)

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Experience with EPIC charting system preferred

Ability to provide two professional references (one from a manager, director, or supervisor)

Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process upon contract signing

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive neonatal care to infants, including those as early as 22 weeks gestation

Manage respiratory distress, glucose regulation, and care for neonates requiring surgery or cardiac interventions

Administer medications using the Pyxis system, including IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids

Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic health records

Communicate with healthcare providers and families using the SBAR method

Perform and manage procedures such as arterial and central line care, and interventions for neonatal abstinence syndrome

Oversee ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including nurse practitioners, pharmacy, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, and unit secretaries

Float to different units within the healthcare organization as needed
