Positions that we seek may include chemical operators, supervisors, chemists, engineers, and salespersons.

We have an immediate opening for a "IT Network Engineer." This position will be based out of our Columbus, Ohio plant. This position will travel to Detroit, Michigan estimated to be approximately 10% of the time depending upon the needs of the business.

CRC is currently recruiting for an IT Network Engineer. This position reports to the IT Manager. This position will be responsible for supporting the Information Technology department, for the development and execution of effective IT strategies and initiatives that support the overall company vision and strategy. Further responsibilities will include identifying, leading, and implementing process improvement initiatives within the company. The position is also responsible for safely maintaining and repairing equipment in the plant in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

As a Network Engineer within the chemical manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure to ensure seamless and secure communication across all manufacturing operations. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of production systems by optimizing network performance and minimizing downtime. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support the integration of advanced manufacturing technologies and IoT devices, ensuring robust connectivity and data flow. Additionally, you will be responsible for proactively identifying and resolving network issues, implementing security protocols, and staying current with emerging networking trends and technologies. Ultimately, your work will enable our facility to operate at peak performance, supporting business growth and innovation.

Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless networks to support manufacturing operations.

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability of network services.

Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems to protect sensitive manufacturing data.

Collaborate with IT and production teams to integrate network solutions with manufacturing equipment and automation systems.

Document network configurations, changes, and procedures to maintain accurate records and support compliance requirements.

Conduct regular network assessments and recommend upgrades or improvements to enhance system performance and scalability.

Provide technical support and training to staff on network-related issues and best practices. Skills:

The required skills enable the Network Engineer to design and maintain robust network infrastructures that support critical manufacturing processes, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills are essential for quickly identifying and resolving network issues that could disrupt production.

Security skills are applied daily to safeguard sensitive manufacturing data and maintain compliance with industry standards.

Preferred skills such as knowledge of industrial protocols and cloud networking enhance the ability to integrate modern technologies and future-proof the network environment.

Effective communication and collaboration skills are also vital, as the Network Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to align network capabilities with operational needs. Minimum Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.

Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.

Understanding of network security principles and best practices. Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid network environments.

Knowledge of automation and IoT integration within manufacturing settings.

Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills

Experience with network virtualization and software-defined networking (SDN).

Experience with industrial networking protocols and technologies (e.g., Ethernet/IP, PROFINET).

Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or equivalent.

Other Network or Security Certifications (CCNA-Cyber/OPS, CISM, NCSF, Network+)

Packet tracing & analysis experience

Familiarity with network architectural differences
