Job Title - Power BI + Snowflake Developer

Location - Roanoke, TX ( Hybrid)

Job Duration: 12+ Months

Must Have Skills:

Expertise in handling large datasets and optimizing Power BI reports and SQL queries for high performance.

Experience in Data Security and some exposure to Snowflake, performance tuning.

Proficient in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and Power Query for dynamic reporting and analysis.

Hands-on experience with Snowflake integration, data modeling, and query performance tuning.

Strong knowledge of scalable data modeling, including star and snowflake schemas.

Proficiency in SQL and Oracle PL/SQL for data retrieval, manipulation, and optimization. Business Domain knowledge that would be a huge plus:

Job Spec:

We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer with hands-on experience in integrating data from Snowflake, building intuitive dashboards, and delivering actionable insights. This role requires expertise in Power BI report development, as well as a strong understanding of Snowflake as a cloud-based data warehouse. The Power BI Developer will work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into impactful visualizations and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Power BI Report Development:

Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations that help stakeholders make data-driven decisions.

Work with business analysts and end users to understand requirements and deliver reporting solutions that address business needs.

Implement advanced Power BI features, including DAX, Power Query, and custom visuals to enhance the reporting experience.

Data Integration and Modeling:

Work with Snowflake data warehouse to create and manage data models that power Power BI reports and dashboards.

Develop and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for seamless data integration from Snowflake to Power BI.

Write efficient and optimized SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and transform data from Snowflake to Power BI.

Performance Optimization:

Optimize Power BI report performance, ensuring that large datasets from Snowflake are handled efficiently and queries run quickly.

Use best practices to improve Power BI report and dashboard load times while maintaining accuracy.

Experience in developing and managing efficient ETL pipelines for clean, accurate data.

Proven ability to manage large data volumes while ensuring data accuracy and reliability.

Experience with Snowflake-specific features, such as Snowflake data sharing, Snowpipe, or Snowflake Streams along with familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP in relation to Snowflake.

Report migration experience from other formats such as Oracle OBIEE to PowerBI is a huge plus.

Hands on python skills and familiarity with other BI tools or data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, QlikView) are nice to have.
