Cardiac Cath/EP Lab Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)

Full-Time Day Shifts (10-hour)

On-Call and Late Shift Requirements

Position Summary

The Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) is a certified healthcare professional responsible for assisting with invasive cardiac and electrophysiology procedures. The CVT prepares procedure rooms, maintains sterile fields, operates complex imaging and monitoring equipment, and functions in multiple procedural roles including scrub, circulator, and monitor/documenter. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain a sterile field for cardiac and vascular procedures.

Set up and operate hemodynamic monitoring, imaging, and interventional equipment.

Anticipate and provide required instruments and materials during procedures.

Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular cases.

Monitor and record patient hemodynamic data accurately.

Participate in call rotation and respond to emergency procedures as needed.

Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols.

Procedural Experience Required

Cardiac Procedures: Right and Left Heart Catheterization, PCI, CTO, Pericardiocentesis, LVADs, AngioVac, RotoPro, FlowTriever.

Mechanical Circulatory Support: ECMO, Impella, IABP, ProtekDuo.

Structural Heart Interventions: TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman, CardioMEMS, PFO/ASD/VSD closures, Valvuloplasty.

Critical Care or Cardiac Experience is required.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI or ARRT (ARRT preferred).

Must meet New York State Public Health Law 2824 requirements or be eligible for grandfathering.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab Technologist experience.

Certifications:

BLS (Basic Life Support)

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Schedule

Full-time, primarily day shifts (10-hour).

Must participate in on-call and late shift rotations as needed.
