BACKGROUND CHECK NOTICE:

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. PRE-SERVICE TRAINING:

All new candidates hired to the Department of Youth Services must complete three (3) weeks of paid pre-service training at our Training Academy in Orient, Ohio. The training is Monday-Thursday, 7\:00 am - 5\:00 pm.

DYS is a “qualifying employer” for purposes of the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness [PSLF] program.

3 yrs. exp. in human resources.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration; 12 mos. exp. in human resources.

-Or 1 yr. exp. as Human Capital Management Analyst, 64612.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

What you'll do...

DYS is recruiting for an experienced HCM Senior Analyst to act as the agency payroll officer/absence management coordinator.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Perform biweekly payroll processing in Kronos and OAKS for Central Office, including support of three juvenile correctional facilities

Independently resolve a variety of complex payroll problems and maintain detailed records in a variety of systems and software

Develop, review, & implement DYS timekeeping & payroll procedures

Interpret relevant collective bargaining, policy, and laws

Provide timekeeping and payroll training and support to employees, supervisors, and new hires

Assist in developing strategic initiatives to manage absenteeism, disability separations, and reinstatements to return employees to work timely and in compliance with applicable regulations

Enter Personnel Actions [EPARS] related to absence management programs

Serve as primary contact to advise employees regarding leave programs and perform related HCM activities (e.g., Short-term Disability, Childbirth/Adoption, Military, Caregiver, Family Medical Leave Act program, Occupational Injury Leave, Salary Continuation, Workers’ Compensation, etc.)

Maintain bi-weekly payroll related audit reports and records for central office payroll and oversee collection of bi-weekly facility audit reports and records

Provide information and respond to employment verifications
