Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in public administration, public policy, city and regional planning, business administration, political science or related area OR equivalent work experience.
Experience in grants, program and/or project administration.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with experience dealing with many types of people at various levels.
Computer proficiency with experience using word processing, spreadsheet and database software required.

Business Incentives Analyst

The Office of Grants within the Ohio Department of Development is presently hiring for a Business Incentives Analyst. As a Business Incentives Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting Ohio’s economic development by ensuring grant funding is processed accurately and efficiently. You’ll review, process, and oversee grant invoices and payment requests with precision, ensuring compliance with state and program guidelines. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on technical guidance to grantees and internal teams, maintain the integrity of critical financial and program data, and identify opportunities to improve processes. Your work will directly support the Department of Development’s mission to deliver exceptional service, accountability, and measurable results across the state.
What you’ll be doing:
Champion accuracy and accountability by reviewing and verifying complex grant invoices—ensuring every dollar is spent properly, compliantly, and with purpose.
Be the go-to problem solver by providing expert guidance and technical support to grantees, Development staff, and partner agencies to keep funding requests moving smoothly.
Own the process — generate, track, and troubleshoot payment requests in Salesforce to ensure timely approvals and payments.
Keep things running seamlessly by preparing and submitting payment materials and supporting documentation to the Office of Shared Services.
Monitor the big picture by tracking project commitments, appropriations, and expenditures to maintain fiscal accuracy and transparency.
Stay organized and ahead of the game by maintaining accurate, accessible, and compliant records across multiple systems and formats.
Shape how we work — conduct program reviews and recommend improvements to streamline policies, procedures, and grant operations.
Turn data into decisions by collecting, analyzing, and organizing financial and program data to strengthen accuracy and insight across the division.
Drive data integrity through developing and maintaining data management processes and reporting tools that keep leadership informed and programs efficient.
