About This Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Principal Administration Coordinator to manage the operational, administrative and project coordination functions of the Australian Frailty Network (AFN), based within UQ’s Centre for Health Services Research (CHSR).

This pivotal role supports the AFN Director, governance committees and a broad stakeholder network to ensure the smooth delivery of research, engagement and governance activities. The position requires exceptional organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced academic and research environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

Leading and coordinating AFN’s operational, administrative and financial processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.

Overseeing day-to-day operations, workflow coordination and continuous improvement across AFN activities.

Providing governance and administrative support to the AFN Director and committees, with a reduced focus on traditional executive assistance.

Managing research and grant administration, reporting and records management.

Coordinating stakeholder engagement, communications, and events to support AFN visibility and impact.

This is a part-time (70% FTE), fixed-term position through to December 2026 at Hew Level 7 based at Dutton Park.

About You

A degree with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and management experience in an administrative or operations-focused research context.

Proven ability to manage complex administrative and operational functions within a university, health or research environment.

Experience coordinating operations, improving processes, and managing workflows.

Experience supporting senior executives and/or clinicians in a dynamic, strategic setting.

Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills.

Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

Knowledge of university systems and processes related to finance, HR, governance, research and communications.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia.

You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment.
