Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN with at least 2 years' experience and EPIC proficiency for an oncology-focused assignment requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.
Responsibilities
Work in a Med/Surg Tele oncology setting within a hospital
Patient caseload includes those with soft tissue malignancies, chemotherapy, and comorbidities
Focus on continuous cardiac monitoring and symptom management
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
Shifts are 3x12 hours, with rotating day and night shifts available
Specialized equipment includes B450 monitors GE telemetry system, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
Use of Epic EMR is required
Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
Major responsibilities include infection prevention, patient fall protocols, and management of complex oncology patients
Travel experience is preferred but not required
Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months to be eligible
Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at any Ohio State University hospital
Time off (RTO) must be submitted with application and built into the contract
Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
Fingerprinting for Ohio compliance must be completed promptly upon contract signing
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Requirements
Active OH or compact RN license in hand
Minimum 2 years' RN experience required
BCLS certification required
Epic experience required
Must have completed nursing education at an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Ability to interpret dysrhythmias, manage arterial lines, access ports, administer blood products, and manage central/PICC lines
Competence in IV starts, assisting with chest tube procedures, use of high flow nasal cannula, and arterial blood gas interpretation
Two professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor or manager
