Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN to provide advanced care to neonates in a Level III NICU, requiring a valid OH or compact RN license and specialized neonatal certifications.
Responsibilities
Work in a Level III NICU caring for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above
Night shift position with 3x12 hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
Care includes management of neonates with respiratory, cardiac, surgical, and glucose management needs
Specialized procedures include arterial line management, central line care, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
Pyxis medication administration system and Epic EMR are used for patient care and documentation
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team including NPs, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and more
Provide specialized neonatal care, including medication administration, advanced respiratory and cardiovascular management, and intervention for various medical conditions
Manage gastrointestinal feeding, IV therapy, and infection prevention for neonates
Utilize SBAR communication method for effective interaction with the healthcare team and families
Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after booking per compliance regulations
Available for travel roles if former employee status is at least six months prior; current employees are not eligible
All time off requests must be submitted and approved at time of contract consideration
Local and travel candidates are accepted at the same rate
Requirements
Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
Current BLS and NRP certifications required
Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required
Previous NICU Level III or IV nursing experience is required
Competency in interpreting cardiovascular dysrhythmias and providing gastrointestinal and IV therapy for neonates
Proficiency with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication administration preferred
At least two professional references required, with one from a supervisor or manager
