Location: Klamath Falls, Oregon (Zip: 97601) - Southern Oregon healthcare jobs

Setting: Acute Care - Medical Surgical (Med/Surg), Discharge Ready Unit

Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/29/2025 - End: 1/28/2026)

Shift: 12-hour night shifts; every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed

Estimated Weekly Pay: $1420 - $1530

Charting System: EpicCare Inpatient (Epic Systems Corporation) Med/Surg LPN Qualifications

Active Oregon State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license

BLS certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association preferred

Minimum 1 year of recent acute care or medical surgical nursing experience

Proficiency in clinical nursing skills, patient assessment, and electronic documentation

Experience with discharge planning and patient education in a hospital setting

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Physical ability to frequently stoop, bend, reach, stand, walk, and sit; able to lift at least 50 pounds and push/pull hospital equipment

Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced healthcare environment Med/Surg LPN Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care for individuals medically ready for discharge under RN supervision

Conduct focused patient assessments and implement prioritized nursing interventions

Delegate and supervise tasks to LPNs, CNAs, and assistive personnel according to licensure and patient needs

Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in the electronic health record (EpicCare)

Support patient and family education, including discharge instructions, medication teaching, and follow-up care planning

Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe and efficient patient transitions

Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and discharge efficiency

Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols; promptly report any concerns
