Extruder Operator

About the Role:

As an Extruder Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and production lines. Your primary responsibility will be to operate and monitor extrusion machinery. You will be ensuring that products meet specified quality standards and production targets. Additionally, you will collaborate with team members to implement best practices for safety, quality and productivity in the manufacturing environment. Ultimately, your contributions will directly impact the overall success of our production operations and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Basic understanding of machinery and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience operating extrusion machinery.

Knowledge of quality control processes and standards.

Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities:

Monitor machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality output.

Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Check physical properties such as flatness, gauge, length, width, gloss, haze, orientation and square, as required

Document production data and report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors.

Collaborate with team members to identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions.

Basic computer skills are necessary.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Opportunity for advancement:

Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the production process and make the necessary adjustments to ensure the product meets all qualify specifications.

Detect and correct imperfections such as die lines and rolls, patch out contamination, etc.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on production equipment to minimize downtime.

The required skills for this position include mechanical aptitude and attention to detail, which are essential for operating and maintaining extrusion machinery effectively. You will utilize your troubleshooting skills daily to identify and resolve any operational issues that may arise during production. Strong communication skills will be necessary for collaborating with team members and reporting production data accurately. Additionally, familiarity with quality control processes will enhance your ability to ensure that products meet the required standards. Preferred skills, such as forklift operation, will also be beneficial in facilitating the movement of materials within the manufacturing facility.
