Position Overview:
The Volleyball Operations Intern will work directly with the Director of Volleyball Operations to support the daily functions of the Columbus Fury. This role is ideal for students seeking hands-on experience in professional sports management. Interns will gain exposure to athlete support, team logistics, training operations, and competition preparation, contributing to the success of a professional volleyball program while learning the inner workings of sports operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Player & Team Support
Assist with player onboarding, housing, and transportation logistics
Provide day-of-match support including locker room setup, equipment prep, and warm-up logistics
Training & Facilities:
Assist with practice setup and breakdown (nets, balls, equipment)
Help track equipment inventory and prepare items for training and travel
Competition & Travel Logistics:
Assist with game day operations including visiting team needs and event setup
Help coordinate team travel itineraries, meals, and lodging logistics
Provide operational support during home matches
Qualifications Required:
Current student or recent graduate in Sports Management, Kinesiology, Business, or related field
Experience in athletics, knowledge of volleyball rules and competition formats
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Interest in pursuing a career in sports operations or athlete support
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
Ability to lift/move equipment (up to 25 lbs)
