American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Oncology Med/Surg Tele position requiring telemetry interpretation and a valid OH or compact license.

Job Details

• Work in a hospital-based Medical Oncology Med/Surg Tele unit,

• Rotating 12-hour shifts including both days and nights based on department needs,

• Patient ratio generally 1:4 with a maximum of 1:5,

• Care for adult and geriatric patients with various solid tumor cancers and related med/surg issues,

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation are essential components of the role,

• Uses EPIC for computerized charting,

• Float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed,

• Flexible scheduling with self-scheduling requests considered before final posting,

• Weekend shifts are variable depending on unit requirements,

Job Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand,

• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program,

• Current BLS certification required,

• Minimum two years of RN experience required,

• Telemetry experience required,

• Oncology experience preferred but not required,

• ONS Chemo certification preferred,

• Previous travel RN experience preferred,

• Must provide two professional references, one from a supervisor or manager,

Additional Information

• The unit cares for patients through all stages of solid tumor cancers, including diagnosis, treatment, and end-of-life transitions,

• Strong emphasis on infection prevention and fall protocols,

• Orientation includes one week of dayshift classroom and one week of on-unit precepted training (36 hours),

• Must complete fingerprinting promptly after contract signing per Ohio requirements,

• First week orientation is Monday through Friday day shift, followed by unit-based orientation,

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers,

• Former employees may be considered if separated from the facility for at least six months,

• Current employees of Ohio State University hospitals are ineligible for hire as travelers,
