American Traveler is seeking a Progressive Care Unit RN with Ohio or compact licensure, two years of nursing experience, and strong telemetry skills for adult leukemia and hematology patients.
Job Details
• Work in a Progressive Care Unit serving adult and geriatric patients,
• Primary patient population includes newly diagnosed acute leukemia cases,
• Staffing ratio typically 1:4, can be up to 1:5,
• Night shift, three 12-hour shifts weekly (19:00-7:30),
• Variable weekend requirements based on unit needs,
• No scheduled or blocked shifts; self-scheduling requests are accepted,
• Initial week of dayshift orientation followed by 36 hours on unit with preceptor,
• Utilizes Epic EMR system,
Job Requirements
• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration,
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required,
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• MS/Tele and telemetry monitoring experience required,
• Must be able to interpret dysrhythmias and participate in rapid response teams,
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line management, and feeding tube care required,
• Ability to administer blood products and perform central line blood draws required,
• PICC line management skills required,
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required,
• Must have 2 professional references including at least one manager/director or supervisor and one charge RN,
• ONS Chemo Cert and NIHSS certifications preferred,
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred,

• Focus on rigorous infection prevention and falls prevention protocols,
• Care provided to a vulnerable hematology and oncology population,
• RTO requests must be submitted with application and built into contract,
• Former employees are eligible after a 6-month break; current employees are not eligible for travel assignments in Ohio State University hospital locations,
• Locals are accepted at the same rate,
• Urgent compliance with Ohio fingerprinting requirements needed following contract signing,
• First time travelers will not be considered for this position,
