Starting Pay Range: $72,000 - $85,000

Overview
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an attorney interested in supporting Ohio's public school districts on a range of education-related legal issues and working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. The Staff Attorney will work under the guidance of experienced legal professionals to monitor and summarize new legal developments, provide timely and practical information to members, and apply skills in legal research, analysis, writing, and customer service within a nonprofit environment.

What You Will Learn and Do
Provide timely and practical legal information to school board members and administrators on education and governance topics.
Conduct legal research and draft articles and publications that inform and educate OSBA members.
Assist in preparing and delivering presentations, webinars, and training sessions for members.
Monitor and summarize new legal developments, legislation, and regulations impacting public education.
Participate in OSBA's Legal Assistance Fund activities and support the legal hotline.
Collaborate with cross-divisional teams to actively support OSBA's strategic and member-focused goals through the delivery of responsive, high-quality legal services.
Prepare and review contracts, policies, and other legal documents.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Admission to the Ohio Bar, or ability to obtain admission within six months of hire.
Valid driver's license.

Work Environment
Hybrid work arrangements may be approved.
Occasional evening and weekend work, including limited travel for conferences or trainings.
