American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position in a medical oncology unit, requiring an active OH or compact RN license and proficiency with telemetry monitoring.
Job Details
• Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit with a specialty in medical oncology,
• Cares for adult and geriatric oncology patients with solid tumors, including those undergoing chemotherapy,
• Primary diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, as well as patients receiving antineoplastic chemotherapy,
• Staffing ratios target 1:4, but may be up to 1:5 based on unit needs,
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30), with variable weekends as needed,
• Self-scheduling is available, finalized based on unit balancing,
• First week orientation is Mon-Fri dayshift, followed by on-unit precepted orientation,
• Floating required to other Med/Surg Oncology units,
• Utilizes Epic for computerized charting,
Job Requirements
• Active OH or compact state RN license required at time of application,
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required,
• BLS certification required,
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills required,
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program,
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred,
• Oncology experience preferred but not required,
• ONS chemotherapy certification preferred,
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor, manager, or formal leader,

• Unit provides comprehensive care for oncology patients from diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life support,
• Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention,
• First week consists of Monday to Friday dayshift orientation followed by precepted on-unit orientation,
• Holiday coverage and variable weekend shifts are required based on unit needs,
• All RTO (requested time off) must be submitted up front and built into the contract,
• Locals are accepted at the same pay rate,
• Former employees are eligible after a 6-month break in service,
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are not eligible for travel positions,
• Urgent completion of Ohio fingerprinting is required after contract signing,
