Position Summary
Performs advanced technical and administrative work in the use of student management software and supervision of student data collection and submission, and all other duties as assigned. Position operates under the limited supervision of the Director of Planning and Accountability.

Essential Functions
Submits State Reports and participates in webinars and workshops related to state reporting for student data collections.
Serves as the division contact with the Virginia Department of Education for state and federal student data collections.
Maintains, updates, and builds tables within the Student Information System (SIS) as it relates to current state coding.
Assists in the development of disseminating information to school personnel for requirements regarding student information reporting.
Works collaboratively with school and division registrars and provides oversight regarding appropriate enrollment procedures and records management.
Audits, maintains, and corrects student data elements within applications to be reported to the Virginia Department of Education.
Collects student data within the SIS for state reporting and assists school-level personnel to resolve any data errors related to the current reporting window.
Generates the data extract routines and uploads for state reporting related to student data collections.
Troubleshoots operational and/or software problems within the application and contacts the vendor for resolutions to related issues.
Maintains other information management systems, as appropriate.
Provides strategic advice concerning the Virginia state code, policies, and procedures as they relate to K-12 student information.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and SQL scripting.
Ability to provide staff development as requested by building principals and leadership councils in the use of SIS and related systems.
Ability to educate and train staff individually and in group settings as requested.
Assist building teams and administrators with data collection and interpretation using SIS.
Ability to prepare reports and maintain detailed training and support logs.
Ability to observe and follow all school district policies at all times.
Ability to respond to information requests in a cooperative, courteous, and timely manner.
Ability to keep student and personnel information and records confidential.
Ability to perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as directed by supervisor or administrative staff. Qualifications, Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal).
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical persons.
Experience working in a K-12 public education environment.
Broad knowledge of student information systems.

This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force.
Work regularly requires using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires walking, speaking or hearing and reaching with hands and arms and occasionally requires standing, sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions
Work requires close vision, distance vision, color perception and peripheral vision.
Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.
Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, assembly or fabrication of parts within arms length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities.
Work frequently requires exposure to the risk of electrical shock and occasionally requires working in high, precarious places and exposure to extreme heat (non-weather).
Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
Must be mobile enough for frequent traveling to and from schools and facilities inside and outside the school division. Special Requirements
Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia for the operation of division-owned/leased motor vehicles may be required. The incumbent's driving record will be subject to periodic review and must be acceptable in accordance with the provisions of the Dinwiddie County School Board's policy manual.
