Description

Guardian Rail, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, is a leading freight rail services and transportation company that operates one of the largest nationwide railcar services networks in the industry. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Treasury Accountant at our corporate office who will report to our Assistant Controller and be responsible for supporting all treasury functions including the monitor of cash flow, day to day control over treasury transactions and authorization of bank payments.

Essential responsibilities include

Recording and reconciling accounts receivable and payable activities

Recording and tracking capital expenditure activities

Compiling rolling cash flow forecasts

Establishing and maintaining fiscal files and records to document cash transactions

Performing general ledger accounting and compiling adjusting journal entries

Reconciling fixed assets and recording depreciation/amortization expneses

Compiling debt and amortization schedules

Assisting in the month end close process and financial statement preparation

Participating in financial statement audits and tax return filings

Recommending and implementing process improvements to accounting systems and procedures

Qualifications

Degree in Accounting or Finance

2-4 years of relevant accounting or treasury experience

Experience with ERP software systems

Proficiency in Excel

Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
