Job Description

The Facility Operations / ASC Technician is responsible for maintaining and supporting the physical environment, equipment, and infrastructure of the ambulatory surgery center. This role ensures that the facility is safe, clean, functional, and fully equipped to support surgical procedures and patient care.Key Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of the ASC, including operating rooms, procedure areas, waiting rooms, and support spaces.

Inspect, operate, and perform basic maintenance on medical and facility equipment, ensuring proper function and safety compliance.

Assist with the setup, breakdown, and turnover of procedure and operating rooms.

Support clinical staff with the availability and proper functioning of equipment, supplies, and technology during procedures.

Monitor facility systems, including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and emergency power, and report any malfunctions to the Facilities Manager.

Assist with environmental safety inspections, infection control compliance, and regulatory readiness.

Maintain inventory of facility supplies, tools, and minor equipment, and request replenishment when needed.

Respond to facility-related issues, such as equipment malfunctions, environmental concerns, or minor repairs.

Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including fire safety, hazardous material handling, and infection prevention standards.

Support operational efficiency and assist with special projects or facility upgrades as directed by management.Qualifications & Skills

Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred.

Prior experience in facilities management, biomedical equipment support, hospital maintenance, or ASC operations preferred.

Skills & Attributes

Knowledge of facility operations, safety protocols, and preventive maintenance.

Ability to operate and perform basic troubleshooting on medical and facility equipment.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Good communication skills for coordination with clinical and administrative staff.

Ability to work independently and respond quickly to facility-related issues.

Physical stamina for walking, lifting, bending, and performing hands-on tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment.

On-site role in an ambulatory surgery center environment, including patient care and procedure areas.

Standard daytime schedule with possible variability depending on surgical schedule and facility needs.
