Head of Technology Operations – Contract (Inside IR35)

Location: Buckinghamshire (2–3 days on site)

Rate: £700–£775 per day (to an umbrella)

Duration: 12 months

A newly appointed CIO is driving a major transformation to modernise and commercialise technology operations.

As Head of Technology Operations, you’ll take ownership of service delivery, infrastructure and business systems — leading the move from a legacy, ITIL-led environment to a modern, service-based and customer-centric model . You’ll help reshape how technology delivers value, embedding a commercial mindset and driving measurable improvement in performance and user experience.

Operating within a Microsoft environment (Azure, M365, Windows Server), you’ll ensure operational excellence while building the foundations for a DevOps-enabled future.

You will:

Lead and modernise Technology Operations across Service Desk, Infrastructure and Business Systems

Embed a service-first, commercial culture that delivers tangible business value

Drive efficiency, automation and process improvement

Partner with Security, Product and Transformation teams to deliver strategic change

An experienced Technology Operations leader with deep Microsoft expertise and a track record of transforming legacy environments into customer-focused, service-led operations.
