Travel Nurse Job Details

Job Title: PCU Registered Nurse (Travel Nurse)

Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210

Healthcare Facility: 9 West Doan Hall, Surgical/Burn Unit

Unit Type: Med Surg / Telemetry (Adult & Geriatric Patients)

Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Weekly Hours: 36

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940–$1990

Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/26/2026 – End: 4/27/2026)

Weekend Requirement: Every other or third weekend

Floating: Required within OSU healthcare organization

Orientation: 24 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience

Active RN license (compact license or Ohio nursing license required)

BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Previous charge nurse and teaching hospital experience preferred

Experience with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication systems preferred

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only accepted)

Two professional references (one from manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for second reference)

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 22-bed Med Surg/Telemetry unit

Care for patients with burns, plastic/reconstructive surgeries (flaps, grafts, leech therapy), urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries

Perform specialized procedures including burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy

Document patient care using EPIC and manage medications with Pyxis

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV/pharmacy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, social work, patient transport, rapid response)

Float to other nursing units within the OSU healthcare system as needed

Participate in weekend coverage and maintain flexible scheduling

Ensure compliance with credentialing and fingerprinting requirements
