General SummaryThe welder is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers and measuring tools. Flexible hours or PT work available if that is what you are looking for.
Essential Job Accountabilities
Perform welding operations on pipe, vessels, structural skids and other equipment.
Ability to weld both CS and SS piping.
Layout, cut, fit and otherwise prepare material for welding.
Fabricate material from piping schematics and other drawings, working from blueprints, sketches or verbal instructions.
Operate oxy-acetylene torch to cut, braze, weld and solder.
Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.
Perform quality detailing work, grinding, polishing, etc.
Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns, performing all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Complete all appropriate documentation and paperwork.
Education
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience
Certification
Valid driver's license
Welding certifications a plus, but not required
Work Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in pipeline construction and welding procedures
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Prior experience with drilling, welding casing is a plus.
Experienced in Stick, Wire Feed, TIG
Experience with conceptualizing and designing for fabrication
Forklift certification
Be able to routinely lift heavy equipment up to 75 pounds
Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
Look at flat drawings, pictures, and blueprints and visualize how they would look as solid objects with height, width, and depth
Have good written and verbal communication skills
Be able to promote the safety culture within our company by working within the safety policies established by Granite and our customers.
Be willing to perform a variety of tasks as may be necessary to promote completion of work, including assisting on other projects as necessary.
