About Our Client:

This global leader in the aftermarket treatment of industrial emissions is looking for a full time permanent Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop automotive (Class 8 trucks) exhaust components with the combination of stamped and sheet metal parts, necessary jigs, fixtures and dies for high volume production.

Generate detailed engineering drawings and drafting packages compliant with GD&T standards.

Conduct forming and stamping simulations (e.g., AutoForm, PAM-STAMP, or similar) to validate designs and optimize processes.

Review customer part designs and provide input for manufacturability and cost reduction.

Support prototype builds, production trials, and new product launches.

Collaborate with tooling suppliers and internal teams to ensure proper design execution.

Troubleshoot production issues through root cause analysis and implement engineering countermeasures.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including work instructions, BOMs, and process sheets.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve product quality.

Ensure compliance with automotive standards (IATF 16949, ISO, OEM requirements).

Requirements:

Bachelorâ s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.

5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing engineering (stamping focus).

Strong design and drafting skills, including 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.

Proficiency in SolidWorks (design, assemblies, and drafting).

Hands-on experience with metal stamping processes (progressive, transfer, or tandem dies).

Experience with simulation tools for forming and stamping (AutoForm, PAM-STAMP, or equivalent).

Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFMEA/PFMEA, PPAP, and APQP.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Experience with tooling design for high-volume automotive applications.

Familiarity with machining, welding, or robotic automation.

Exposure to lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

Prior experience with Tier-1 automotive suppliers or OEMs.
