Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele oncology assignment with telemetry and EPIC experience required.

Responsibilities

Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit with a focus on oncology patients

Patient population includes individuals receiving chemotherapy, diagnostic services, and symptom management for soft tissue malignancies

Continuous cardiac monitoring and management of comorbidities are core aspects of care

Patient ratio is 1:4

12-hour day or night shifts available (3x12s)

Required to float to units of equal or lower acuity

Utilizes GE B450 monitors, telemetry system, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds

Epic EMR experience is required

Primary duties include continuous cardiac monitoring, administration of chemotherapy, and implementation of infection prevention protocols

Strong focus on patient falls prevention and management of disease progression symptoms

Former employees eligible after a 6 month break; current employees of OSU facilities are not eligible

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Strict compliance with Ohio fingerprinting process is expected upon contract signing

Time off requests must be submitted prior to hiring and included in contract

First-time travelers are accepted; previous travel experience is preferred

Scrub or dress code will be specified upon hire

Requirements

Active OH or Compact RN license in hand

Minimum 2 years RN experience required

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Proficiency with Epic charting system is required

Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and ABGs

Skills in accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line management, IV starts, and high flow nasal cannula

Experience assisting with chest tube insertion/removal

Recent professional references, including one from a supervisor or manager, required
