Material Handler

Location: Bowmanville, ON

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Shifts Available: 2 Steady Afternoons, 1 Steady Night

We are seeking reliable, safety-conscious Material Handlers for our client s Rebar and Service Centre. The role involves handling and processing rebar, along with general service centre duties. Candidates must have forklift and overhead crane experience, industrial painting is a plus, and an AZ license is a bonus. Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are required.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret bar lists, tags, and work orders.

Tag, bundle, and prepare finished rebar for shipping or storage.

Load and unload materials using cranes, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment.

Assist with receiving, organizing, and staging raw materials.

Package and label finished products for delivery.

Maintain accurate production and inventory records.

Inspect materials and finished products for defects or compliance issues.

Follow all safety policies and wear appropriate PPE.

Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from hazards.

Support supervisors, dispatch, and shipping staff to meet production schedules.

Assist with customer pick-ups or service requests as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment preferred.

Forklift and overhead crane experience required (certification an asset).

Painting experience preferred.

AZ license is a bonus.

Ability to read and understand blueprints, bar lists, and work orders.

Physically able to lift heavy materials and work on your feet for extended periods.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Team-oriented with good communication skills.

Working Conditions:

Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy materials.

PPE required and provided.

May require overtime or shift flexibility to meet customer demands.

Training & Compensation:

Training: Approximately 6 8 weeks, rotating between day shifts (7:00 AM 3:00 PM) and afternoon shifts (3:00 PM 11:00 PM).

Pay Rates: $23.35/hr (afternoon), $23.50/hr (night).
