Job Purpose:
- The Body Shop Estimator at VALLEY FORD TRUCKS- MASTER is responsible for assessing vehicle damage, estimating repair costs, and ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery. This role involves working closely with customers, technicians, and insurance companies to facilitate the repair process and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to determine the extent of damage.
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for repair costs, including labor, parts, and materials.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain estimates, repair processes, and timelines.
- Collaborate with insurance adjusters to negotiate repair costs and ensure alignment with insurance policies.
- Coordinate with the body shop team to schedule repairs and ensure timely completion of work.
- Maintain detailed records of estimates, repairs, and communications for future reference.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues related to repair estimates.
- Stay updated with industry trends, repair techniques, and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during the estimation and repair process.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate degree or certification in automotive technology or a related field is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive estimating or a related field.
- Proven track record of accurately assessing vehicle damage and estimating repair costs.
- Experience working in a body shop or dealership environment is preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes and body shop operations.
- Proficient in using estimating software such as CCC ONE, Mitchell, or Audatex.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with clients and insurance adjusters.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates and documentation.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical information from repair manuals and bulletins.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload efficiently.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
