Job Description:
SUMMARY
Providesacademic support in various subjects for participants of the TRIO StudentSupport Services program. Works directly with students assisting in one-on-onesmall group, and classroom settings. Monitors, tracks, and evaluates the learningand progress of participants to promote student success. Supports the Program'sobjectives and initiatives as directed.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
Conduct one-on-one and small group tutoring in Math, Science, or related subjects virtually or in-person
Diagnoses student tutorial needs and evaluates participant progress resulting from tutoring
Assists in the development of educational action plans
Communicates student barriers and challenges with the TRIO Student Support Services Program staff
Conducts educational workshops
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and tutoring sessions
Works with and/or demonstrates various types of audio-visual materials, computer applications, and other materials or delivery systems used in an instructional program
Facilitates the learning process by conducting workshops and presentations for students enrolled in high-risk courses
Meets with faculty regarding student progress and course content/materials, as needed
Assists in the recruitment and retention of program students
Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
Bachelor's Degree in Math or a related field
Minimum of two years of experience teaching or tutoring Math and Science to academically underprepared students
Demonstrated previous success in motivating and encouraging students
Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
Demonstrated experience requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS and ABILITIES
Possess basic knowledge of fundamental Mathematic/English/Science concepts with the ability to apply in various situations
Demonstrated knowledge of exemplary instructional methods and practices
Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Demonstrated commitment to providing exemplary customer service
Possess intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;
Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
Target Starting Salary Range: $42,000 to $46,000The final offer for the successful candidateis targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment ofinternal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate'squalifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred jobrequirement(s).
