Join Relativity as a Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting, where you'll play a critical role in overseeing our revenue accounting functions. Your responsibilities will include revenue recognition, contract review, and establishing robust revenue-related processes and controls. This role will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiencies, so we are seeking a candidate with extensive experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting knowledge, and a demonstrated ability to lead and nurture high-performing teams.
This position reports to the Director of Revenue Accounting. While this role can be done remotely, candidates who are able to commute to our Chicago office are preferred.
Job Description and Requirements
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide expert technical accounting guidance under ASC 606, working closely with Sales, Deals Desk, Legal, and Accounting throughout the deal lifecycle.
Act as a representative for Finance in major cross-functional New Product Introduction (NPI) and Go-To-Market (GTM) programs, ensuring that system design and internal controls align with revenue accounting standards.
Conduct research and draft technical accounting memos to address complex revenue scenarios effectively.
Lead the month-end closing process for revenue, including thorough reconciliations and preparation of essential revenue-related reserves such as accounts receivable reserves, sales returns, and credit reserves.
Support the management of internal and external audit processes.
Drive transformation initiatives to enhance processes and execute system implementation projects.
Build, mentor, and develop a high-functioning team while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Revenue Accounting within a fast-paced technology environment.
At least 2 years of managerial experience or higher in a public company setting.
Robust technical knowledge of ASC 606, specifically for Software and SaaS, including experience with usage-based contracts.
Proficient with Revenue Systems such as Workday Financials, NetSuite ARM, or Zuora Revenue.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills essential for success in this role.
Adept at thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while maintaining attention to detail.

This position offers a total compensation package including a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus, and long-term incentives. The expected salary range for this role is between:
$126,000 and $190,000
Final salary offers will be influenced by various factors, including the candidate's experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity considerations. Compensation at the higher end of the range is uncommon in order to allow for meaningful salary growth opportunities within the position.
