This jobholder is responsible for assessments of the condition of assets within asset categories across IUSA, and assists with development of asset management strategies, objectives, and plans; manages asset analysis projects; and advises other groups on asset management principles and applications.
This person may be assigned any of the asset categories of the electric delivery system consisting of approximately 936 substations, over 8,000 miles of transmission lines and about 64,000 miles of distribution lines and of the gas delivery system consisting of about 866 regulator stations and almost 17,000 miles of gas line.
The total accounting plant balance of this system is in excess of $8 billion.
Recommendations are made for future expenditures in the multiple tens of millions of dollars.
Leads the development and application of asset strategies and policies in assigned asset areas using performance and condition information in accordance with best practice and sound engineering practice.
Recommends investment strategies and asset replacement programs that maximize system performance and financial outcomes.
Will guide risk assessment within asset management area.
Key Responsibilities * Using best practices and good engineering, develops and applies approaches within regulatory, legal, and other specified parameters that optimize the use of assets in accordance with the asset management policy.
(25%) * Analyzes asset condition data and formulates asset strategies and programs consistent with best practices to provide guidance to expenditure planning and prioritization (both maintenance and capital). Risks will also be considered in the analysis.
Will recommend and develop programs and strategies including 10 year asset management replacement recommendations.
(30%) * Interacts with subject matter experts on both technical and nontechnical issues to make sure asset management practices are effective, data is properly gathered and analyzed, applications are structured for optimum effectiveness, and risks are appropriately managed.
(15%) * Works with others in the asset management group and other groups to gather, manipulate, analyze, and provide reporting of asset data.
(20%) * Effectively communicates asset management plans and the strategies and policies that guided the creation of the plans to internal stakeholders.
