Search Solution Group is seeking a Customer Service Representative on behalf of our client, a company specializing in manufacturing high-quality precision components for various industries.
The Customer Service Representative is an entry-level position responsible for providing both pre-sales and post-sales support. This role ensures timely, accurate responses to customer inquiries, facilitates internal coordination across departments, and contributes to an overall positive customer experience. Over time, the position may evolve to include leadership responsibilities such as cross-training team members and facilitating cross-functional meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to customer quote requests, coordinating input from pricing, scheduling, engineering, and quality teams.
Process incoming orders and facilitate internal reviews to ensure accuracy and timely response.
Monitor customer supplier websites and respond to RFQs, purchase orders, and other requirements.
Provide timely updates to customers on order status, delivery dates, and expedited production requests.
Notify customers proactively regarding shipment dates or potential delays.
Manage all forms of customer communication, ensuring professional and accurate written and verbal interactions.
Coordinate with accounting to establish customer credit, manage invoicing, and resolve past-due balances.
Participate in cross-functional initiatives and perform additional duties to support company objectives and values.
Requirements Include:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in a sales/customer service role, preferably in manufacturing; or
Minimum of 4 years in a sales/customer service role in manufacturing for those without a degree.
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to operate customer service-related systems and software programs effectively.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Capable of facilitating meetings and providing procedural training.
Professional temperament to handle customer and internal issues, disputes, and emergencies.
Fluent typing skills.
Certifications:
None required.
Knowledge:
Understanding of customer service processes in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with order management, quotes, RFQs, and internal departmental workflows.
