Assignment Type: Travel RN

Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Ohio healthcare jobs

Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 10 East Doan Hall

Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Hours per Week: 36

Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)

Patient Ratios: 4-5 patients per Registered Nurse

Orientation: 24 hours

Weekend Coverage: Required

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940-$1990

PCU RN Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit or telemetry nursing experience

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state RN license required

BLS and IV Certification required

Experience with EPIC charting system (EMR)

Ability to pass a telemetry test

Proficient in IV starts, clinical nursing skills, patient monitoring, lab draws, medication administration, and patient education

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Provide 2 professional references (one from manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for second reference)

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients in the Progressive Care Unit

Monitor and manage telemetry patients, ensuring accurate assessment and timely clinical interventions

Initiate and manage IVs, administer medications, and perform routine lab draws

Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and health management

Document patient care using EPIC EMR system

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy

Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed

Care for patients with diagnoses such as bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, post-surgical overflow, and general medicine
