Research Analytics Intern

* Works with Research Office and partnering DEW offices to define problems and opportunities that require new analysis, research, or evaluation; * Works with Research Office and partnering DEW offices to define problems and opportunities that require new analysis, research, or evaluation; * Collects data and information from publicly available sources; * Assesses the quality and utility of available data and research; * Develops tools and protocols for quantitative analysis; * Analyzes data with statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R); * Creates data visualizations and summaries (e.g., Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, ArcGIS); and * Assists in writing and editing reports and preparing presentations.

Minimum Qualifications: * Current enrollment in baccalaureate or graduate degree program.

Desired Qualities: * Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Basic knowledge of a statistical program such as SAS, SPSS, STATA, or R * Minimal experience with quantitative research methods * Capable of working independently and in a team-setting * Self-motivated * Ability to write succinctly and clearly * Flexible and adaptable to fluctuating circumstances * Interested in education policy and research * Experience working in a professional environment
