Job Title: Printing Press Operator
Location: Richmond, VA
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00/Hour (Depending on Experience)
Position Overview:
We are hiring experienced Printing Press Operators to support production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ideal candidates will have a background in operating wide-web printing presses, including flexographic, lithographic, or rotogravure, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and maintain wide-web printing presses
Load substrates, inks, and materials per job specs
Monitor press operations and adjust settings for optimal output
Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and ongoing quality checks
Troubleshoot press issues to reduce downtime and scrap
Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and equipment checks
Maintain ink pH/viscosity, clean decks, and change doctor blades as needed
Track and document Key Performance Metrics (KPMs)
Participate in preventive maintenance activities
Collaborate with the team to meet production and quality goals
Qualifications:
Experience with flexographic, lithographic, or rotogravure printing
Familiarity with press controls, HMI systems, and quality standards
Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Knowledge of industrial safety protocols
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights/weekends
Physical ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods
