Maderra Personnel is currently seeking 2 qualified individuals for the position of Offshore Wellsite Geologist in St. John's, NL.
Located in St. John's, NL, Maderra provides project management, project services, engineering, technical and personnel services to the Energy, Resource, and Commercial sectors. Work Schedule:
• Rotational offshore schedule based on drilling operations
• Maximum of 21 consecutive days offshore
• 12-hour shifts
Additional information:
• Must have ability to work offshore NL, may work days or nights. Potential for some onshore work at the outset for training, etc, but the role is mainly rotational offshore.
Responsibilities:
Geological Data Analysis:
o Collect and analyze drill cuttings
o Record detailed lithological descriptions
o Monitor mud returns and gas levels
o Identify formation tops and assess reservoir quality
Reporting:
o Prepare and submit daily geological reports and striplogs
o Deliver comprehensive end-of-well reports
o Ensure timely transfer of all data and reports to the onshore team
Communication & Coordination:
o Maintain consistent communication with the onshore operations geologist
o Participate in daily morning calls
o Collaborate with mudlogging service providers and offshore drilling personnel
Requirements:
Minimum 15 years of offshore experience in wellsite geology
Eligible for registration as a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) with PEGNL
Software experience in Microsoft Office, Wellview, Powerlog and Petrel
Current and valid safety certifications, including:
o H2S Alive
o Basic Survival Training (BST)
o WHMIS
o First Aid
o IWCF Well Control
