Essential functions and responsibilities

Capable of working on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must

Passionate about developing engineered solutions to improve quality of life for communities and restore the environment

Have familiarity with the engineering principles and practices used for water resources engineering

Candidates will be expected to:

Identify watersheds, drainage patterns, and soil conditions

Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis

Design and analysis stormwater management practices

Design and analysis open and closed drainage systems

Complete field inspections for stormwater control measures, assess drainage patterns, and verify field data

Develop construction documents for infrastructure projects including plans, specifications, and cost estimate (including quantity takeoffs)

Develop technical reports summarizing the purpose and need, findings, design approach, and recommendations/ conclusions

Determine the design criteria for a project based on the federal, state, and local ordinances

Demonstrate a high standard of care for design and provide high quality deliverables/ work product

Interest in regulatory requirements and understand permit requirements associated with construction projects

Required Skills

Strong oral and written communication skills

Familiarity with Open Roads, Drainage and Utilities and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D

Required Experience

Bachelors degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering from ABET accredited engineering program

0-5 years of experience in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering

Ability to complete soon after hiring or successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) exam

Preferred Experience

Hydrologic Modeling experience using TR55 / TR20 and Rational Methodologies

1D and/or 2D Hydraulic Modeling experience

Stormwater Management design experience

Erosion and Sediment Control design experience

Green Stormwater Infrastructure design experience

Storm Drain design experience

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment 85% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
