We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Science Analyst to join our team. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for Data preparation, analysis, and interpretation of large volumes of data. You will use your strong Python & SQL skills to provide valuable insights and support data[1]driven decision-making. Our projects ingest structured and unstructured data from multiple sources that eventually ends up in a unified Data Lake (AWS S3). This data is available for reporting and analytics by various other teams.
As part of a specialized, high visibility, strategic project, we envision combining data from multiple public and private data sources, using rule based and machine learning techniques, enriching existing data sets in Salesforce, and informing strategic decisions by developing inputs for Tableau dashboards. This candidate will independently work with organization-wide teams with limited supervision, work through potential challenges, and consistently inform leadership of progress and impediments. The estimated timeline for this project is 10 months. This candidate should be an excellent Python Programmer, and proficient in SQL, with at least one year of hands-on experience working with AWS. Experience working with AWS services such as Glue, Athena, Entity Resolution are highly desired.
Major technologies involved include S3, AWS Glue, Step Functions, Lambda Functions, Amazon Athena, Redshift and RDS.
Skills and Responsibilities
• Design & Develop complex ETL Scripts in Glue or SQL for data prep & analysis. • Using AI/Data Science to find patterns in data.
• Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to implement and document complex and evolving requirements.
• Research and implement innovative solutions to solve challenges related to ETL, data cleanup, and analysis.
• Ability to debug complex data issues without frequent guidance from senior team members. • Developing techniques to work with both tabular and hierarchical data.
• Strong attention to detail, good work ethic, ability to work on multiple workstreams simultaneously, and good communication skills
Required Skills
• 3 to 6 years of programming experience in Python & SQL.
• 3 to 6 years of experience working in Data Engineering or related roles
• 1+ years of Cloud experience required.
• 2 to 4 years of experience working with Customer/Membership data.
• A degree in Computer Science or an equivalent major.
• Experience working with various database systems: SQL Server/PostgreSQL/Redshift/Athena etc.
• Enjoys collaborating with other engineers on architecture and sharing designs with the team
