Primary Functions:

Assist Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in preparation for examination/ procedure. Collect initial patient data including: verify patient name and DOB, vital signs, chief complaint for visit, reviewing allergies, over-the-counter medications, and past medical, family, and surgical histories.

Completes in-clinic casting, splinting, and bracing. Prepare injections for physician or APPs. Assist physician during in-office procedures. Completes cast removals, and suture/ staple removals. Provides dressing changes as appropriate.

Educates patients prior to surgery regarding overall surgical experience, including pre-operative and post-operative goals and expectations.

Triages incoming calls and provides nursing education as applicable. Review and return clinical phone line messages in a timely manner and appropriately document action and follow up.

Acts as a liaison between outside representatives and clinic for products and equipment needs. Maintain and order clinic supplies, equipment, and medication.

Schedules all surgeries, collaborates with surgical department. Obtains pre-op clearance, and prior authorization as necessary. Communicates with outside surgical vendors as needed. Schedules US guided injections.

Monitors daily clinic flow. Maintains and monitors provider clinic schedules. Informs patients of clinic delays. Reviews schedule in advance, and ensure all results are received and reviewed. Collaborates with radiology to ensure availability and efficiencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Ohio required

BLS certification within 30 days of employment is required.

ACLS certification within 6 months of employment is required.

Experience:

Two years' experience as a clinic nurse in an office environment required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Basic knowledge of computers including the use of the internet. Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English. Demonstrates flexibility, ability to multi-task and effective organization and interpersonal skills. Able to work with people of various backgrounds, cultures, and economic status.
