Data Center Technician

A leading technology firm in the Columbus, Ohio region is seeking a dedicated Data Center Technician to join their expanding team. The role focuses on hardware and network diagnostics, physical repairs, and innovative problem-solving in a dynamic environment.

About the Opportunity:

Schedule: Includes on-call rotation

Hours: Full-time

Setting: Data Center Environment Responsibilities:

Diagnosing and repairing hardware and network issues

Installing equipment and creating documentation

Innovating solutions for complex data center problems

Collaborating with the team and communicating effectively

Managing work prioritization and organizational tasks Qualifications:

1-2 years of experience in IT or related fields

High school diploma or equivalent education

Advanced understanding of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair

Basic knowledge of Linux or similar operating systems

Proficiency in computer networking

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to work effectively under pressure

Ability to lift up to 50lbs, work in cramped or elevated spaces

Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle

Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support Desired Skills:

2+ years of IT experience

Associate's degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field

Familiarity with RAID, SAN, X86 architecture, SCSI

Understanding of the boot process, GRUB/LILO, and file systems

Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
