Maintenance Engineer Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $75,000.00 Annually

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our GFS Chemicals family at our McKinley Avenue campus in Columbus, Ohio. This role is responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability. This role involves managing manpower allocation, leveraging Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) for work order tracking, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Work Planning & Coordination
Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
Coordinate manpower and resources for planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.
Ensure contractors are scheduled, paperwork completed and escorted as needed.
CMMS Management
Work order creation, tracking, and closure.
Technician labor hour reporting.
Preventive maintenance scheduling.
Generating performance and compliance reports.
Analyze CMMS data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
Project & Process Support
Assist Maintenance Manager and Engineering teams with project planning and documentation.
Participate in continuous improvement projects to reduce downtime and increase throughput.
Support machine repairs and builds alongside engineering and maintenance personnel.
Inventory & Procurement
Manage MRO purchasing and maintain accurate parts inventory records.
Required Skills
Must have demonstrated expertise in computer skills such as Excel and maintenance management software.
Experience utilizing CMMS system.
Communicate clearly and concisely to others, both verbally and in writing.
Strong maintenance background which may include hydraulics, controls, high pressure steam/boilers, welding, electrical, pneumatics and basic troubleshooting skills.
Ability to understand and follow instructions concisely.
Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work on multiple levels, such as catwalks, ladders, etc. and ability to work in extreme temperatures.
Manual and finger dexterity.
Must have strong problem-solving skill, and the ability to work efficiently under stressful situations.
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able and willing to participate in plant teams such as PSM, safety, etc.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred.
Previous experience in maintenance planning required.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Ability to work in a self-directed manner and provide direction to others.
Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvements and assist with implementing them.
Computer skills and knowledge of various CMMS software
