Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the direction for all activities related to general accounting, payroll, human resources, information systems, and general office management. General Accounting Functions
Daily cash management
Maintain fixed asset listing and depreciation schedule
Maintain current status on all payroll taxes, deposits, 941s, 940, FUTA and SUTA
Prepare all personal property, franchise, business, municipalities' tax returns, and real estate taxes in a timely manner.
Develop and maintain effective systems for tracking job costs and overhead allocations
Ensure regular reconciliation of Foundation and QuickBooks Accounts
Prepare timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements
Manage the preparation of the company's annual budget and instill timely review and analysis of performance vs. budget.
Check weekly AP check run for accuracy, print and post checks Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable
Credit Management
Collections and liens
Code billing as to proper G/L account, job and cost code accounts.
Key billing to Foundation Software and maintain records of billings
Print and post invoices, copy as needed, distribute invoices to clients.
Follow up calls and research with any client questions, collection issues, provide statements to customers with unpaid balances, etc.
Maintain weekly A/R aging printouts for management meetings.
Review and maintain company requests for new client credit history reporting.
Create and maintain all files, books, procedures, manuals, etc. Payroll & Human Resources
Payroll
Process weekly hourly payroll in Foundation
Manage the administration of the Company's Time Tracking Software (Foundation FieldLog) by managing permissions of users
Verification of employment, earnings statement preparation of hourly employees.
Record and maintain any changes in employee pay rates, status changes, and deduction changes in benefits, garnishments, etc.
Verify and reconcile payroll hours, earnings and deductions.
Produce payroll reports for file, distribution. Human Resources
Help with employment interviews and assist in hiring decisions
Conduct New Hire orientation and maintain and distribute all new-hire paperwork and benefits enrollment packages.
Maintain active membership in industry associations (ie, MRA, SHRM, etc).
Maintain the Company's employee handbook communicating policies, conduct, substance abuse, and safety programs.
Maintain personnel files
Assist in employee Benefit package (insurance, 401k, etc.) design and renewals
Provide and maintain information to outside consultants / agencies on administrative and compliance issues:
BWC and TPA's and MCO's workers comp claims
COBRA terminated employee health insurance
Modified duty and wage continuation
State of Ohio unemployment claims
OSHA logs
Company and Employee insurance. Compare policy invoices with payroll information and reconcile these invoices for payment. Miscellaneous Duties
Set up and maintain permits and licensing for various government agencies as needed.
Manage vehicle licensing and other government regulation requirement s for operation
Review, evaluate, and implement software applications
