Job Summary: Prepares nutritious meals for inmates as mandated by law. Maintains a sanitary environment with the help of inmate workers under the Cook's supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Prepares food for inmates and staff. Prepares trays to go to inmate populations, according to floor counts.

-Maintains a sanitary kitchen with the help of inmate workers under the Cook's supervision.

-Rotates stock and places food orders in correct storage areas.

-Instruct inmates in proper sanitation of dishes and equipment.

-Verifies special meals for special diets and prepares them.

-Informs Food Service Manager of problems involved with kitchen operation.

Work Requirements:

-High School Diploma or equivalent.

-Experience in Quantity food production required.

-Requires a valid driver's license and adequate insurance as required by County Policy. Must be able to pass a background check.
