We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Walkdown Engineer to support quality assurance and commissioning efforts on a major construction project in Cork. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing detailed walkdowns of installed electrical systems, identifying discrepancies, verifying installation against design drawings and specifications, and ensuring all systems are ready for commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough walkdowns of electrical systems (LV/MV distribution, lighting, containment, grounding, etc.)
Verify installation against project drawings, specifications, and QA/QC standards.
Identify, document, and report punch list items (snagging) and non-conformities.
Collaborate with QA/QC teams, construction teams, and commissioning teams to resolve issues.
Review and verify red-line and as-built drawings.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during inspections.
Support turnover and handover documentation processes.
Attend coordination and progress meetings as required.
Work closely with electrical engineers and construction managers to ensure timelines and quality standards are met.
Essential:
Proven experience in a similar role on large-scale construction or industrial projects.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, standards, and codes (ET101, IEC, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and layout drawings.
Experience with QA/QC processes and punch listing procedures.
Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Right to work in Ireland.
Desirable:
Previous experience in data centre, pharmaceutical, or large industrial projects.
Knowledge of commissioning procedures and handover protocols.
