About the Role

As part of the WarpStream team, you will contribute to an innovative Apache Kafka-compatible data streaming platform that operates directly on object storage without relying on local disks. As a Senior Engineer, you will engage in various aspects of the product, from enhancing the storage engine in our Agents to optimizing the scalability of our control plane. You'll implement exciting features, tackle complex distributed systems challenges at scale, and ensure operational excellence across cloud services like AWS, GCP, and Azure. Our fully remote team is spread across countries, including Spain, France, Canada, Ireland, and the USA.

What You Will Do

Take ownership of complex technical projects from inception to completion.

Develop and maintain mission-critical backend services that provide exceptional value to our customers, focusing on high performance, scalability, reliability, and resilience.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within a multifaceted technical stack, including microservices and containers.

Ensure the operational readiness of services to meet customer availability and performance commitments.

What You Will Bring

10+ years of experience in designing, building, and supporting production backend systems, with a strong foundation in software engineering best practices, including code reviews and documentation.

Proficient in a major programming language (e.g., Java, Go, C/C++, Python) with strong programming and algorithmic skills.

A deep curiosity for distributed systems and storage technologies.

Exceptional project delivery and communication abilities.

Experience driving operational excellence in large-scale production services.

A customer-centric mindset with a passion for teamwork, technical leadership, and mentorship.
