About the Role:
As a Senior Customer Success Technical Consultant at Confluent, you will play a crucial role as a trusted technical advisor and advocate for our customers. Your main goals will be to ensure customer success, satisfaction, and retention by providing expert technical guidance and best practices for the Confluent product suite. Collaborating closely with Customer Solutions and cross-functional teams including Sales, Product Management, and Engineering, you will aid customers in accelerating their value realization, maximizing product usage, and achieving their business goals.
This position blends deep technical expertise and commercial acumen. Utilize your background in areas such as AppDev, SysAdmin, or Distributed Computing to advise customers on their system architectures, and offer insights and strategies for enhancing their Confluent experience.
In this role, you will expand your knowledge of Kafka, Flink, and Confluent technologies while interacting with a range of customers from startups to large enterprises. You will forge strong relationships, uphold high delivery standards, and enjoy making a difference for our customers by helping them create state-of-the-art data streaming solutions.
What You Will Do:
Act as an advocate and technical voice for the customer within Confluent, collaborating with internal teams to ensure technical success.
Proactively address technical objections and develop strategies to facilitate customer adoption.
Support customers in technical lifecycle activities such as architecture planning, cluster security design, and automation.
Guide customers in advancing their data streaming capabilities through technical recommendations.
Deliver periodic reviews to customers, analyzing technical health and operational performance.
Document knowledge to enhance customer self-sufficiency and support internal engineering teams.
Utilize insights from customer engagements to influence the Confluent product roadmap.
Assist customers with technical issues alongside support and engineering teams when needed.
What You Will Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Proven experience in a technical role within a product/SaaS company serving enterprise clients.
Passion for tackling complex technical challenges, with a solid understanding of infrastructure and streaming technologies.
Outstanding communication skills to explain complex issues and solutions effectively to various stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple customer accounts with a focus on detail and successful outcomes.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud networking/security technologies.
Experience in programming with languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
Knowledge of Java Virtual Machine (JVM) tuning and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Linux systems.
Eagerness to learn new technologies and concepts rapidly.
Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
What Gives You an Edge:
Confluent Developer or Administrator certifications.
Experience with Apache Kafka and Apache Flink.
Background in building distributed systems or streaming solutions involving technologies like Spark, Flink, Hadoop, or Cassandra.
