Nesco Resource is seeking Maintenance Technician(s) for our client in Columbus. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment.

Schedule

Schedule: 8 am-8 pm or 8 pm-8 am. Some are 8-4; it varies. Starting, they will be 8-4 Monday through Friday for 30 days, then they will go on their assigned shift. The schedule will rotate every 2 months from days to nights.

Essential Functions:

Equipment Monitoring & Diagnostics

Monitor machinery for unusual sounds, vibrations, leaks, or performance changes that may indicate impending malfunctions.

Conduct diagnostic testing and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and control systems to identify root causes of equipment issues.

Use tools such as multimeters, vibration analyzers, and thermal imaging devices to support fault detection.

Maintenance & Repair

Repair, rebuild, or replace defective components, including:

Electrical wiring circuits, control devices, and PLCs.

Motors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.

Plumbing and power transmission systems.

Heating, cooling, and hoist equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, including lubrication, filter replacement, belt inspection, and performance checks.

Install, align, and test new or modified machinery and systems to ensure proper operation.

Fabrication & Equipment Setup

Use machine shop and fabrication tools (band saw, drill press, grinder, acetylene torch, welding machine, lathe, milling machine, etc.) to create or modify components and fixtures.

Safely operate forklifts and hoists to retrieve, move, and stage parts or equipment.

Procurement & Contractor Support

Assist with parts procurement, including sourcing, ordering, and inventory management.

Prepare repairable assets for shipment to external contractors and ensure proper documentation.

Provide hands-on direction and supervision to on-site contractors to ensure safety and quality compliance.

Technical Documentation & Communication

Read and interpret technical documents, including equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Use the internet and digital tools to research parts, technical specifications, and repair procedures.

Complete required paperwork, logs, and maintenance checklists accurately and on time.

Communicate effectively with production technicians, peers, and supervisors to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize downtime.

Training & Knowledge Sharing

Train and mentor new maintenance employees, providing hands-on instruction in equipment operation, safety, and maintenance procedures.

Contribute to the team's technical knowledge base by sharing insights and documenting best practices.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move parts and supplies, up to 50 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work – This is a full-time position. Overtime work is required occasionally.

Required Education and Experience

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Two years of related experience

Other Duties

Will follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce film solutions that meet regulatory, ISO, SQF, and company requirements. Will support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Quality Management Systems. Accountable to the PSI's Food Safety & Quality policy.
