Senior Software Engineer

An ed-tech startup based in Washington DC is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their growing team.

They're building an LLM-driven product that cultivates the learning of school students. They provide students with AI-guided lessons that allow them to improve their understanding of subjects like math, science, and history. They also work with teachers and schools as a supplement to in-person education that leads to greater rates of retention and learning which compounds into higher GPAs and graduation rates. Their product is suited for learners from grade school all the way to people pursuing a Master's or PhD.

Required Skills

5+ years of hands-on experience as a full stack software engineer

Strong proficiency with Typescript and React/Next.js on the frontend

Strong proficiency buliding APIs with Python and/or another open-source backend language

Experience working in an AWS environment and integrating web apps into cloud infrastructure

Experience with SQL/PostgreSQL and/or non-relational databases

Experience leading a project from 0 to 1

Computer Science degree or degree in a related field

Strong problem solving skills

Nice to have: Previous experience working in a startup environment, experience using AI/LLM tools or working on an AI-powered application Benefits
