Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and support enterprise-level PostgreSQL environments. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance tuning, security, and disaster recovery while also supporting developers with schema design and query optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in production and non-production environments.

Monitor and optimize database performance, queries, and indexing.

Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

Ensure high availability through replication, clustering, and failover solutions.

Manage database security, access control, and compliance requirements.

Support developers with query tuning, schema design, and stored procedures.

Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting (Shell, Python, etc.). Required Skills & Experience

7-10+ years of DBA experience with at least 5+ years in PostgreSQL administration.

Strong expertise in performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.

Hands-on experience with backup/recovery tools and HA/DR solutions.

Familiarity with cloud-hosted PostgreSQL platforms (AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, GCP Cloud SQL).

Strong knowledge of Linux administration and scripting.

Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Nice to Have

Knowledge of other databases: Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB.

Exposure to DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
