The Director of Instructional Technology is responsible for overseeing the integration of technology into the educational process, ensuring that all instructional staff have the tools, resources, and training they need to effectively teach in a technology-driven environment. The Director will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and ongoing support for educational technologies that enhance learning experiences, with a primary focus on professional development, curriculum integration, and teacher support. Working collaboratively with IT staff and student interns who handle technical infrastructure and troubleshooting, the Director serves as the bridge between pedagogical needs and technical solutions. They will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and students to promote technology as an essential part of teaching and learning, while also ensuring ethical and responsible use aligned with Christian principles.

Strategic Leadership & Planning

Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive instructional technology plan that aligns with the school's mission, goals, and academic standards

Evaluate emerging educational technologies and recommend adoption based on pedagogical value, data privacy, and ethical use

Coordinate with IT leadership to ensure infrastructure, device management, and data systems effectively support instructional objectives

Develop and implement policies promoting ethical, responsible, and Christ-honoring technology use

Support and advance the school's AI Ethical Use Policy by providing ongoing professional development, ensuring faculty compliance with disclosure requirements, and guiding the integration of AI tools in accordance with ethical and academic integrity standards

Professional Development & Teacher Support

Design and lead teacher professional development on effective instructional technology practices, including individualized coaching and pilot programs

Guide teachers in using digital tools for personalized learning, differentiation, collaboration, and authentic assessment

Support teacher onboarding and basic technology orientation sessions

Maintain training materials, guides, and tutorials for staff reference

Serve as a bridge between teachers and IT, translating instructional needs into actionable technical solutions

Instructional Integration & Curriculum Support

Partner with academic leaders and teachers to design technology-enhanced instructional practices that improve engagement and learning outcomes

Support integration of core platforms including PowerSchool, Schoology, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Apple Classroom, Jamf Teacher, SMART Boards, Windows devices, iPads, MacBooks, and iMac labs

Evaluate and assist in the onboarding of new learning applications and LTI-integrated tools through the established LMS (Schoology) based on instructional relevance, security, and usability

Oversee LMS configuration related to instructional needs and ensure readiness for remote or blended learning

Technical Coordination & Systems Management

Navigate Jamf Pro to review restrictions, device settings, or profiles when determining instructional compatibility

Collaborate with IT to establish appropriate app restrictions, security settings, and device policies aligned with classroom needs

Validate system interoperability (PowerSchool, Schoology, Apple School Manager) when troubleshooting instructional barriers

Annual coordination of device readiness, collection, and release with IT and intern:

Preparation and distribution of 200-300 student iPads for new school year

Collection, damage evaluation, and billing of iPads for grades 6, 7, 9, 10, 11

Collection, billing, and release of iPads for grade 8 and 12

Communication of these processes with necessary parties

Ongoing billing of and parent notification for damaged devices during the school year at regular intervals

Possess, or able to acquire, working knowledge of backend systems (PowerSchool SIS, Apple School Manager, Jamf Pro, Schoology integrations) sufficient to troubleshoot basic issues and advise on platform interoperability

Collaborate with IT and registrar staff to ensure accurate provisioning, maintenance, and archiving of student accounts across core systems (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, PowerSchool, and Schoology)

Assessment, Communication & Reporting

Collaborate with leadership to assess technology integration effectiveness and produce regular reports on adoption metrics, teacher growth, and student engagement

Model digital citizenship and communicate clearly with faculty, students, and parents about technology initiatives and available resources Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field (Master's preferred)

3-5 years of experience in instructional technology leadership or K-12 technology integration

Strong understanding of pedagogical design, digital learning tools, and LMS integration

Familiarity with PowerSchool, Schoology, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Apple education tools

Working knowledge of device ecosystems and classroom hardware (Apple, Windows, and SMART Boards)

Excellent communication, leadership, and professional development skills

Experience in Christian education or alignment with Christian educational values preferred

Understanding of data privacy and security principles in educational environments Physical Requirements

Ability to work at a desk and use a computer for extended periods.

Occasional lifting and moving of technology equipment.

Ability to navigate between classrooms, offices, and other areas of the school campus. Reports to:
