Job Title
Rabobank traineeship: Risk & Finance
Job Description
Do you have strong cooperative skills and a smart approach to solving complex problems? Do you aspire to become a true Chief Value Officer and learn more about Rabobank's strategic steering? Challenge yourself and make an impact with the Risk & Finance traineeship at Rabobank.
You and Your Future
In just 18 months, trainees will master the details of Rabobank’s Risk and Finance management. You will have the opportunity to work in four different departments within the Risk, Finance, and Financial Economic Crime (FEC) domains. In the Finance domain, you will contribute to steering the bank through activities such as accounting, analysing, reporting, and advising the business. In the Risk domain, you will help maintain a strong risk and integrity culture across areas like Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance, IT Risk, Market Risk, and Climate Risk. In the FEC domain, your analyses will help detect and prevent financing terrorism, money laundering, and fraud.
The program is designed to give you a broad perspective by offering rotations across departments. You can shape your own future! In addition to day-to-day work, trainees engage inside projects and join Rabobank’s trainee etwork for a personal development journey. A buddy system will help you navigate the bank and join social events, while coaching from a talent manager will support your growth.
After the program, trainees can pursue careers in Risk, in roles such as Risk Managers, Data Scientists, Specialists in Financial Restructuring, Credit Analysts, Compliance Officers, Change Coordinators, Project Managers, and more. In the Finance domain, potential roles include Business Controller, Project Controller, Treasury, Balance Sheet Management, or External Reporting. In the FEC domain, you could start in departments such as Customer Due Diligence, Governance, Risk & Change, Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions.
Examples of Rotations
You might contribute to our mission ‘Growing a better world together’ in our Climate Risk or Regulatory Adherence teams, support our data-driven decision-making process in a Credit model or stress test department, help prevent operational losses in our Compliance, FEC, IT Risk, or Operational Risk departments, or care for our customers in client-focused departments like Credit Approvals and Financial Restructuring and Recovery. Additionally, you could work within Control Wholesale & Rural to calculate Rabobank's Finance Emissions or support Balance Sheet Management, External Accountability, and stakeholder management.
Your Development as a Young Professional
To become a specialist in your field, the first 18 months will primarily involve training courses directly related to your specialism and support your talent development. These courses are often led by experienced colleagues or trainers with a proven track record. You will build your network, gain valuable experience, and develop skills that will benefit your future career. We also challenge you and other young professionals to work on various cases and challenges one day a week.
Learning from Each Other
Development is our top priority. The best way to learn is by doing, through both mistakes and successes. At Rabobank, we offer the right balance between freedom and supervision to help you develop talents you never thought you possessed. You can specialize in a professional field or explore areas you enjoy. During your traineeship, you can count on excellent supervision, working with experienced colleagues, and frequent interaction with other trainees.
